They are actually volk av3s - a true 2 peice wheel and very light actually. $600 a wheel. The monsoons are cheap copies.
My 245/35/18s are within a pound or two of the 245/40/16s on the stock wheels.
Bolt ons will come, dont worry. Now its smog first, then bolt ons... CA smog is a BITCH.
Also, the car will not be to the strip a lot... I am 6'3" and there is NO way I can fit a 5-point in there. First pass on the sauce and I will be packing...

is that side view photo of your car (same as in your sig) without any motor in the car at all? reason i ask is the front seems to be sitting abnormally high.

It will all fit. Hopefully it'll be running with-in the next couple months. No use in sharing pictures before it's complete.

if you do the math, thats like an 11 inch wide tire and with a BFG, its enough to snap the stock IRS you have back there. you gonna put a new diff in or just go easy out of the hole?
sorry, i've been working on an rx-7 for the last 3 hours putting it back together and been thinking about doing the same as u are doing

If you're afraid of breaking the stock rear, a Kaaz or T2 clutch style LSD accompanied by chomoly axles, and 3.9's will be a very strong setup.

Im going with jimlabs 03 cobra IRS rear end conversion. I'l slam 3.10 gears in there and try to break 200mph
It really bothered me with the lack of mazda's gear selection. I hope jimlabs setup holds up to some high HP and my abuse. The car will be a ***** and a half,,, mazda/chevy/ford, but i think the cobra IRS conversion with a ls1 swapped Rx7 is the next best thing since sliced bread. I wont have to run 32inch tall tires with the mazda 3.90 gearing just to try and stay in 4th across the traps. BTW i wont go auto, thats another one of my reasons i went with the cobra IRS for wide selection of gears.
For tires im sportin 335/35/17's... With pettit's flares of course.

In addition, jim lab's 03 cobra cradle and axles haven't even see a driveway much less the street or a track. Even though all looks good, I'm waiting for someone else to test it out before I drop close to $2000 on something that may have potential issues.
The lack of optimal gear selection is due to the nature of the rotary. Rotaries rev high and don't make a ton of torque. 3.9, 4.10, 4.33, and 4.77 gears are all that's available because no one exspected someone a differene engine and trans in the chassis.
I've never really been a fan of the pettit flares. They just don't exactly match the car. Maybe if they were molded to the body instead of screwed on. *shrug*
Sounds like you'll have a fun car. Mine was a blast on the bottle, but I ended up missing the turbo.

Hopefully with 285/18 nittos I can hook into the bottom of the 11s, top of the 10s.
Car will weigh ~2800lbs with no weight reduction.
Progress- Got the motor in the car this weekend -

1.3liter you also have a cam too, whcih LS1's LOVE. I ran a 12.1 bone stock and a 11.1 with the spray. I would put $50 that he doesnt run a 10 with a stock motor and a 100 shot. Now I have the TREX in I am guessing I will be in the low 11's NA and 10's on the spray.
