Default quick question about wiring harness

I was sitting here at work, (not really working though LOL) and I'm mulling over the wiring harness diagrams for both a 2001 S10 and a 2001 Fbody. According to what the diagrams say the O2 sensors are part of the engine harness on the fbody. Is this true? I know on the 4.3 the truck has it's own harness for the O2 sensors. If I was home I would just lay out my harness and look but I haven't gotten around to tearing the fbody harness apart yet. I was gonna stop by the dealer and order the O2 pigtails being the S10 uses a similar circuit but different connectors and also the stuff to add one more O2 sensor to the circuit. If the fbody harness has all this in it I'm cool and don't need to order anything. Thanks a bunch

I have the 2002 f-body harness and my harness has (4) 02 sensor plugs.
Two front plugs, and two rear plugs

Kossuth, do you know if the serial data controls for the f-body dash are the same to work with the S-10 dash and BCM? or are you going aftermarket with the gauges?

No, I'm going with all the stock gauges as of now. I've done some research and alot of the data paths are the same. The PCM used in a 01 S10 with the V6 is the same PCM used in fullsize trucks, fbodies, and C5's just a different flash. Also the ABS and all that works really similar as well. I have done pinout comparisions between the truck configuration and the fbody and C5 configuration and even with the S10 with the V6 alot of things are generally in the same spot. The only real big differences between the V6 and the LS1 truck/C5/Fbody configurations is the layout of the fuel injectors and such being a V6 with a distributor is gonna run alot different in that situation than will a coil on cylinder V8. The only thing I'm uncertain about is will the tach work as planned. I'm using a 4 banger instrument cluster out of a 01 truck. From what I've read it should work being from what I read in the GM manuals and such the signals for the 4 banger S10 and the V8 LS motors is the same. We will see if I'm correct but I'm about 90% sure it should work AOK

I should add this. I took a wiring harness off a wrecked 01 with the V6 and rewired my 2000 as a 01 because the 2000 truck uses a vcm backbone which is totally different than the ls1 layout.

LS1 tach signal = standard 4 cylinder tach signal.

Not worth the money to go through Speartech or someone like that and just have it done? Sounds like a nightmare. I wouldn't want to invest that much time and effort to get it all done and find out that it doesn't work as planned, when I think there are several companies out there offering a less timely alternative that is proven to work.

Well, I will have about $450 in completely rewiring the truck and that includes the addition of power windows locks power heated mirrors ect ect. Figured if I was ripping the entire dash out might as well make it worth my while. With my electronics training in the military I'm not that scared anything electrical LOL. That might be good or bad I guess. I tested the BCM system and everything worked as terms of the body stuff so I got it right so far. From here it should be down hill hopefully
