Trunkey ls1/ls6 cars for sale
Anyone have any links or further info on these beasts. Be them Rx7, El Camino, Datsun. I'd love to be able to fork over the cash and have a "new classic" I know its cheating but I'm selling my 99 Z and interested in getting more info.
Thanks.
Thanks.

there arnt any.
you buy a car.
then if you dont want to put it in yourself, you fork over another 10k or so and have someone do it for you.
you may be able to find a kit car or two forsale thats assembled and has a LS1, but short of buying someones project, you're stuck doing it yourself.

i had mine for sale for about 1 week, and then i got the car started and i drove it and that afternoon i took it down for sale! most people are like me andafter al the freakin time and money they put into it.. they A dont wanna get rid of the car because of love, and B they know they will never get what they put into it! so i say if you want to pay someone to do it, get a third gen rx7 and have it! i think that is just one of the sickest cars out there right now!

Not for sale
I've had several offers to buy my 1935 Ford/LS-1 but,..... it's what I wanted to build, I've spent a zillion hours building it and no one would actually pay me enough to cover what parts and labor I actually have in it. Besides......it's fun, quick and very different.
Oh yea....my LS-1 has "Corvette" heads....that must mean it's different???? Somebody wake that guy up!

I have a 1980 280ZX for sale that has its original motor in it that you could take out and sell if need be. Currently a few hours of work away from running, her body is in great shape and very little rust. She's in great shape and I was going to drop an LS1 in her but things happened and my life is about to change a great deal in a few months, so I need to get rid of her. I'm willin to strike a killer deal on her. Hit me up if you're interested and want some pics.

This article should help explain the differences but generally more power, Different oil Sump, Fly-By-Wire throttle and you are likely to find Corvette LS1's in much better shape than one from a Camaro simply because of the "typical" owners of each. Corvette's cost much more than Camaros which attracts more of an older "genre" and older drivers tend to take care a "baby" their cars than would a 20 year old Camaro owner.
Here is the link and I hope this helps

Here's what I wrote back:
I would agree with your assessment that the Vette engines will most likely be in better shape. However, other than the sump and fbw throttle body, the engines are identical. The Vette engine is rated at a higher power because of two things: a little better exhaust system downstream of the exhaust manifolds and Chevy underated the Camaro/Firebird LS1's to make the Vette's sell better. The engines share the same internals including the heads and cam, therefore, using one or the other for a conversion should make no difference.

Hmmm.... thanks Glenn. We should invite him to come hang out with us in here. We'll give him some reading / enlightenment. It might be cool to have the editor of KitCar magazine in here.

I've heard that as well. Any idea on the general time frame including the 3x wait.
Thanks.
Thanks.
