The book is on v8s10s.com. Some things I can say at this point is get you a custom wiring harness(painless, speartech, etc) instead of trying to rework a donor harness. Think a/b 9" ford rear end, use corvette front accessories, if you know a fabricationist get him to make you some custom motor mounts. Use 8" brake booster from a some type of chevy car.

I'm doing mine right now and I can say this. A custom harness would be nice, but I was able to make my fbody harness work. You need to use a 5.3 oilpan and you still have to cut the front crossmember. I used a brake booster off a late 90's malibu and welded the S10 booster rod on the end. I have pics and some descriptions on my website. www.geocities.com/jays_s10/ls1swap.html You don't have to cut the AC box or get a new booster if you relocate the rear most coil packs, but the more you get into the motor swap the more you will see that room is a premium. Swap isn't all that easy really. You have to retain the BCM if you want everything to work correctly. I have run into the problem of the class II data path incompatability. I'm gonna need a custom program made by westers or somebody to correct that problem. That's just a rundown of the basics.

A bare minium if you are talking about a LS1 not a 5.3, 4.8, or 6.0 is gonna be about $5k at a bare minimum using cheap stuff. I know I have probiably close to 10k wrapped up in mine and it still isn't on the road yet. Custom headers and the exhaust if you go with all mandrel stuff is gonna run at least $2k if not more.

Ah, I see. They are using modified truck manifolds. That's cool and a cheaper way to go than manifolds, but you see in that pic even better than mine just how much you gotta chop out of that front crossmember. Gotta be carefull with that because it laterally stabilizes the frame during cornering and such. I reinforced it with 3/8" plate steel.
