Default Chevy 2 headers

We finally finished the headers on our 66 Chevy 2 with the LS1. They are 1 3/4 longtubes with 3" collectors. They can be installed with the motor bolted in . The only thing you have to remove is the starter. Now as you know these headers fit the stock frame and front suspension They will be included in our install kit.

Pics will be up this weekend.

Look forward to seeing them - how long are the primaries? What gauge material, flange thickness, etc. Will they be sold separate from the kit and what will pricing be like? -Bob

We are using 5/16 flanges, the primaries are 31". They are 16 gauge material. I wont gaurantee that the headers will fit if the motor isnt sitting in the same location as mine is... I am working on pricing next week.

I am using the S&P motor mounts with mine, so do you think they will work?

My mounts are made out of steel instead of aluminum. The S&P mounts made the motor mounts too wide. Otherwise we just copied the S&P mounts in thinner material. The headers should fit.

Sounds awesome. Anything in the works for an install kit into anything else?

Madman when will these be available, and do you have any pricing yet? My buddy has a 67 Nova with the Heidts front end. He needs a set of headers bad. Car is painted, motor and tranny done and in. Let me know.

This will work a little better:

Do you have a pic of the driver's side out of the car? How's the ground clearance? How close is the header to the steering box (that is how much does one have to play with here for clearances)?

The steering box has plenty of clearance. We are looking at $1100.00 a set.

Hey Madman, while you are working this Chev II deal up why don't you fab a front crossmember to mount a front steering rack & pinion to help out the people that have junked out stock 40 year old steering on their 1st gens while giving any extra clearance to belt drive system LS1 might need. I have read that 1980's chev II front steering arms reversed side to side with a Chevette rack make steering geometry better than stock when rack is in right place. This would make a great add-on kit for early year Chev II's

Just my $.02 worth
