Re: LS1 RX7
Brian's car is just in the TESTING phases right now. He hasn't even eclipsed the surface of that car's potential. As it sits right now with his current combonation, that car will easily run low 11's @ 125+ mph with more tweaking.

Re: LS1 RX7
yea like damian said that car is still not tuned right and he is still short shifting, hell he still has the stock rev limiter which is really holding the car back.

Re: LS1 RX7
Thanks for all the kind words. Let me know if you have any questions.
We are still in development phases of racing right now. We are only beginning to touch the surface potential of the car, and I must say that I'm pleased with the direction that we're headed. Our goal is to give Z06 performance at a 1/2 the cost, and the H7 truly shows its ability to do just that.
We did go to Alabama Inter. Dragway(Steele) on Jan 4th. We went to find some base numbers our customers can expect in a budget build up. The track conditions were fair at best, and I ran a best time of 11.8 @ 119mph. That time is probably going to be accurate for a strong "stock" version of our car.
Through some more tests and developments, we're expecting to run an estimated pass of 11.4 @ 124mph N/A. We will probably test at Montgomery Raceway in early February for our new numbers.

Re: LS1 RX7
Looks nice! Any ideas on the car's weight with the new powertrain? As I recall those RX7's were very light. Must be a handful with the V8 torque

Would be beyond wild while it lasted . . . probably an easy mid-9s car.

Re: LS1 RX7
i haven't been a member very long but i have come to one conclusion
COLONEL IS INSANE!!!!
Everything is made better to him with a 427 or bigger. Why not a 460 COLONEL???? That would be more fun right??? A mid 8 daily driver.
Cool car, let me know if you plan on going to steel, i will be there i would like to see it.

Our weight at the track was 2,831 lbs with full interior to factory specifications and a 1/2 tank of gas. When we go back to test, the car will be on a diet to the range of high 2,600lb to low 2,700lbs.
The RX7 has proven to be a great car for this engine swap. The vehicles with their low weight and great aerodynamics have responded great to road racing and at the dragway. The chasis has proven strong enough to handle the higher torque levels, and we've been very pleased with the results of the build this far.
Most of our engines going in to the car are stock to keep overall price of the conversion down. The 11.8 @ 119mph is our baseline number for stock or lightly modified LS1(ASP pulley, dual exhaust through manifolds, stock TB, stock mass air meter, stock intake, etc).
Colonel - Bring your RX7 and 434ci LS1 by the shop, and we'll take car of you with all you need to run strong and reliable.
