cruise control...

Has anyone made the cruise control work with their conversion? If so, how do you control it? Is there a little aftermarket panel or something? Is the cruise control operated by the pcm?

I don't have it installed and running yet but I did buy an F-body cruise module with the cable that goes to the TB on eBay for $10. I had Speartech (sponsor>>) make a harness for it for $25. They provided all the labeled leads and the factory style plug for the module. I planned on using toggle switches on the dash. Since my car is more of a racecar looking vehicle, I figure the toggles are more appropriate.

My Cutlass conversion uses an F-body cruise unit. It works just like factory. The LSx F-bodies use the same box. It wasn't hard to do. The box uses a speed input from the PCM, On/Off, Set/Coast and Resume/Accel from the cruise switchs on the turn signal lever, (even '80s levers work!) brake light switch input, and of course power and ground. The Helm manual for the year of the donor vehicle is invaluable for specific pinouts. BTW, the PCM speed signal also works great on an AutoMeter programmable electronic speedo. Just don't wire it up like AutoMeter's directions say. Ask me how I know!
