Default How hard to mate a T56 to an SR20DET or RB25DETT ??

Anyone? Is it even possible? I am thinkin of jumping on the 240sx bandwagon sometime in the nearish future, and always hear about thier tranny problems. So I figured why not try and use a tranny that we all know can take some serious punishment? Thanks!

I'd say your better off asking in a 240 forum, since half these people might not know what an SR20DET is... but I think it might be a little tough, but do-able. Why not take a trans that they use in the GTR out of it?? It should work for whatever HP your sr will put out.

You be better off taking the one out of the skyline and putting it on there. Or better yet just get the skyline motor and tranny and drop it right it. It can handle the power.

That's what I was planning to do, but it just seems that the GTR / Silvia tranny's can't hold much power. Thanks for the replies, anyways!

Aren't the Skyline's (GTR's?) 600 HP or so? I've heard of quite a few running 10's on stock trans... not sure if that's the one your talking about, but if your going more than 600 horse... in an sr20det, your nuts I wanna see this finished project!!!

Most of the reallyfast Skylines have the trans converted to spur gear crashboxes. They are anything but street friendly.
