Default LS1 in a 61 Vette...Ever been done?

Guys,

A good friend of mine is pulling the SBC motor out of a 61 Vette in his garage and is thinking about an LS1 swap.

Has anyone done this before? Any websites or links on where to start for things like motor mounts, etc.

TIA,

The motor mounts are the same as a swap into any other SBC vehicle. Go to S&P (www.hotrodlane.cc) or find the plans for making your own right here in the archives of this forum (search for "motor mounts"). I don't recall any swaps on this site into solid axle Corvettes but it's just about the same as any other swap. You can check out my site for pics and information on my swap to get you started.

TIA,
I have a 58 almost completed with an LS6/M6 and C4 suspension. I also used the www.carcreationsinc.com chassis. It is a super combination. Best of luck with it.

Question for Scott ; Where did you get that awsome tubeframe for your project ? Looks really good!!

And one for Coolvet : Did you send your frame to carcreations to be modified? Or did bought complete new ?

Thanks!!!

My web site changed to http://faculty.delhi.edu/purdysd It's now painted and ready for the wiring and fuel hook up. Should be running in a couple of months.
