Unhappy I think I want to cry...

Well my mom told me last week end that my car is leaking red fluid (Im at college so i couldnt check it out). I wasnt too worried about it because there is a small leak in one of the trans lines so i was just thinking it was that. But then she called back and said it was a lot of fluid and I was thinking that it cant be the trans lines . Two weeks ago when I was checking to see if my speedometer worked by putting the car in gear (the drive shaft is not in), which it didnt...so I put it in from park down to drive and such and because the car wasnt moving i was thinking and put it in park. Well it makes that really crappy sound when you put it in park while the cars moving . I have done it before it the old car and it didnt break anything so I just blew it off and hope it didnt break or anything. Well I had my sister go out to the car today and see where the leak was coming from, and she said towards the middle of the car in line with the side view mirrors....you know what that means, TC is leaking. Plus I remember hearing something about Midwest TC's having the housing crack or something like that. I really didnt want to have to drop the trans, but I have a feeling that when i look at the inspection hole there will be trans fluid leaking from there. Will it ever end???

(Thanks for listening to my rant and reading yet another long post)

its probly just leaking out the tailshaft.

i wouldnt worry about it until you looked under there yourself.

Wow, I missed the no driveshaft part until MrDude's post...that's definitely a leak source. May not be the only leakage, but it's one of them and likely the biggest.

well I figured it would leak out of there, but I didnt notice it when I was running the car, even though I didnt look at the time. I didnt really think about that though. But my sister did say it was towards the middle of the car "in line with the sideview mirror", although everything kind runs towards the front driverside of the garage so that could be it...of course shes a 15 year old freshman and Im relying on her for diagnostics, lol. I hope it just leakin out the tailshaft, but well see. Thanks for somewhat brightening my day lol.

Well I checked it out today and it seems like the TC is fine because there was no fluid in the inspection hole, but it didnt seem like it was leaking from the tailshaft either. Rather it seemd like it was leaking from the pan again. I find this wierd beacuse I just put in a new gasket, and it wasnt leaking for a couple weeks and then now it decides to leak? It doesnt look like it leaking any more, but I havent started the car either to see, not really sure if there is a problem but if anyone has any idea's, let me know.

its gotta be the tailshaft.. i have major puddles from that as well..

i wish i could get like a plug or something to throw in there

its probably slowly running out and it would then slide down the back and towards the middle and drip off.. im sure youll be OK once u get the shaft in there..

Yea i threw the driveshaft back in today, and Im going to clean it all up and start the car and see if its leaking anymore. I have a feeling it should be ok. They do have plugs for them because they shipped mine with one but I lost it.
