Default 1st gen S&P mount users, how far from the firewall?

i am making my own mounts S&P style but I want to be as close to the firewall as possible. I have the templete for the S&P mounts and want to know how much farther i can extend it. i am running solid mounts and solid bushings so flex is not a big issue. I want about 1/2" from the engine to the firewall.
thanks
chris

Just curious...what is the main clearance issue when setting the engine back in this fashion? are there concerns regarding the transmission mounting to the block with the smaller clearance?

Thanks

These mounts actually put the ls1 engine in the same location as an original small block so there is no issue with the trans even the cross member seems to be in the correct location!

the only issue with mounting it this way is that the LS1 ac compressor wont mount up.
