temp gage fitting needed

temp gage fitting needed Hey all I am wanting to use my mechanical autometer water temp gage. I pulled the plug on the head and believe it is metric M 12 or something? I dont want to disasemble this to drill this out and I am just leary about drilling into my perfectly good head anyway 
I have tried to find a fitting locally to no avail. Any thoughts...

thanks I looked but only found they went to 16mm (maybe 14) but couldnt find a 12...
This is a truck 5.3 head but I thought they were the same? both gen 3 anyway

If you are trying to go from metric to an SAE threaded sending unit you might want to try Street & Performance as they have adapters from the 12m 1.5 hole in the head to 1/8", 1/4" and 3/8".

i bought the adaptor and temp sender. the sender was $14
