Default It turned over!!!....then dies. HELP.

Well today was the day that I was able to fire up the LS6. It turned over the 1st time. But then just as I breathed a sigh of relief ... it just died. After checking thru HP tuner - no trouble. My buddy George(aka 12secss) figured it wasn't getting fuel. After a check of the fuel pressure off the fuel rail (60 psi) we then said TPS sensor. Put a new one in same thing. Then I remenbered I was going to put this TB on my 01SS (when I had it) installed it and my SS did the same thing- started then died. I played around with the throttle screw which netted better results but not much better. Tomorrow, I'll be trying my buddies 02 T/A TB and see what happens. If that doesn't work any other ideas??
Boy does it sound great for the 10 sec. that it's on what a beast. LT's X -pipe and dual 2.5" thru bullet race mufflers!!! What a sound ... sounds like a big block!!!!!
On another note the sticking flex plate was a false alarm.. it released the bendix as soon as I fired it up. Any help would be appreciated.

Check for injector pulse with a noid light, then look for vats codes if it was not deleted or if you are not running the module to delete it.

My vats would shut down in like 2 or 3 seconds not 10 so it doesn't sound much like vats imho.

It is not the VATS, I deleted it in the program! It might be a problem with his junction block or maintaining the power to the ignition source of his ECM.

Day 2 . Still the same. Tried my buddies TB - no change. Took a reading off the alternator plug (10 volts) during cranking then a drop. Alt terminal is higher(12 v) but then dies with the car. I think it might be my '74 factory fuse box may be the problem. IGN terminal (12 v) then dies(it can't seem to keep the volts after start up. BAT term.(12 v) fine. I'm going to go back and check my grounds.

Make a jumper straight to the battery if it runs it is your connection or a bad fuseblock.

How is the fuel pump wired? May be just "priming" and then losing current.

Settle down Skippy. I was just making a suggestion. Sometimes people say 10 seconds but it is actually 2-3.

Not upset, just left the wrong punctuation by mistake. It kind of varies on how long it will stay on. Based on the HPTuners scan it was from 2-3 seconds to at most 15 seconds. Anyway, we also tried to strat it without the MAF (unplugged), then without the IAC (unplugged). I sprayed some fuel into the TB as soon as it started and it wanted to stay on. I believe it is a fueling problem, probably caused by the electrical. The pump comes on and keeps the pressure up to 60 PSI, but I don't know if the current falls and the pump shuts off.

Run a direct wire to the pump; making sure it stays on!

It lives!!! Turns out the secondary overlapping pcm program (LS6) the VATS were active. I'm sooooo happy !!!!!!!!! Gotta purge the brakes, put on the fenders, adjust the TV cable, then it's time for tuning (running real lean). Stock LS6 pcm doesn't like LT's. I'm sure I'll have more bugs to work out ... better to be prepared. Thanks to John at (Speartech- sorry for the calls) and Geo.( flamethrowing SS) and all the help from everyone that chimmed in and those who didn't . Thanks LS1TECH.COM!!!
