99 Trans Am LS1 wiring problems

Righ then chap, i'm asking for help from across the pond. I have a 99 trans am LS1 engine i have it in my conversion and want the engine running properly before the rest of the car is wired. The Engine starts and runs for about 2 seconds but then stalls out. any ideas? is this mechanical/installation or an electrical issue. i basically need the engine running on the stand but it keeps stalling. any help would be greatful,

Your problem is the VSS is not turned off.

I assume you meant VATS.

Not that there's a software switch to disable the Vehicle Speed Sensor anyway.

so how do i get round this then as i don't have the vehicle speed sensor!

IS there a way i can fool it into thinking all is well or anyone in the uk who can flash the pcm?

You can get a VATS box from ebay for about 22 USD.
I'm sure they'd ship to the UK.

Wire it into the main harness where the Body control module input is.
Can't remember which pin out.

VATs box has a power, ground and then the output for the PCM.
Pretty simple.

Forgot about this.
You can wire up one one your own if you want.
I've got the schematic somewhere, but for $22 it's hardly worth the effort.

If you tell the owner of the auction its for a '99 Trans Am, then he should get you the right one.

As far as pin out, its connector C2 (red), terminal 30 (dark blue wire).

He has the VATS eliminator you need. They work great-I've been using one in my Cutlass daily driver for two years now.
