I have a 700 behind my LS6 but I used an Advanced Adapters kit. The 4l60 flexplate has a different offset than the 700 this kit($100.00) included crank spacer, all bolts and the modified flexplate which looks like a combo of the 700+4l60e flexplate. Fit was perfect - no oversizing needed on any holes.

How are you controlling shift points and kick down on the 700R4? I didn't think the ECM for the LS1/6 would provide proper control on the 700R4. I guess the TV cable still handles kickdown but what about shift points?

The TV cable manages line pressure, not (just) kickdown. No TV cable will mess up your trans in a hurry while it's busy upshifting super late and hard.

New to this LS1 swap deal so bear with me. From what I'm reading it's not a problem to use the 700R4 that I've got (88 GTA) behind the LS1, just need the adapter part. Does the TV cable need to be hooked up? Any ECM issues like it setting codes. I guess the positive side is no need to find a new 4L60E. Any down sides to this?

Thanks for the direct to Bowtie Overdrives. I noticed they also had a harness to take care of converter lock up. Is this something that would need to be added too or will the LS1 ECM lock up the converter properly? Parts list for this swap keeps getting longer. Thanks for the assist.
