Corvette filter/reg mounting position?

The vette filter/reg that most people are using for conversions, where do you guys normally mount these?

Can it be right up back just after the fuel pump or should it be as close to engine as possible?

Where do the factory vettes have them mounted?

Would it make a difference to psi at the rails if its mounted at the back, line from the back to the rails would be around 10 ft and 3-4 bends only.

i have mine mounted in the stock location on my third gen(futher in the back, about 3 feet in front of the tank). I have had no problems yet and i just drove the car from cali to michigan.

I'm under the impression the closer to the tank the better.

So closer to tank, not engine?

Always thought closer to engine was better.

I guess Ill just mount her in the trunk with the rest of the pump setup.

I mounted mine close to the tank, it was easier and I think helps keep the fuel cooler by dumping bypassed fuel right back into the tank.

Mine is near the tank. Just be sure to put it in a place that makes it easy to change someday - it is a filter! It also has a grounding strap, which should be used.

From the factory, the C5 Corvettes have them mounted up under the chassis, mounted in the center tunnel above the trans. and torque tube. This is near the tank.
