Rx7:

Very nice!!!! If I had to do it over again...I would of done a Rx7 like yours. I would of been done by now!!! I have helped a person who visits torque central install a lt1 t56 in a 1990 TII Rx7. His pics. are on my site. Here is the project that I have been doing for a year now with 4 months down time. Nice conversion.....it should be sweet when you are done.

www.ls1miata.net/gallery The Rx7 conversion is the 2nd one down. Enjoy!!!

Spotless conversion. Nice work.
Why didn't you like the stock engine. I thought those things kicked ***?

A high performance rotary shows bursts of brilliance between constant rebuilds.

Nothing like dropping several thousand dollars on an engine that will last a best case scenario of ~30K miles, and a more likely 8-10K miles.

Lack of torque is another weak point. You hear rotary guys speak of "huge torque turbo engines" LOL, yeah, 350 HP with 230 lbs of torque is "huge"

Car looks great RX-7. Maybe I'll do an FD one of these days. Anyone wanna sponsor me?

I do not mind the rotory, but for power reliability and maintinance, the LS1 is just better and cheaper

The car looks great. How long before you can fire it up?

One question: Where did you get those tie rod ends? I'm having big bump steer issues and need something like that to adjust my tie rod angle. Maybe I can adapt those to my tie rods.

Hopefully have it running by the end of this month.

I got the tie rod ends, from hinsonsupercars.com. He makes a kit, it takes some time to get the parts but well worth the wait.

Hind sight is 20/20, that being said I would have taken the intake, ac, starter, wire harness, and the shifter not just the **** at the 2 screws off. Also I would have seperated the engine and trans or taken the engine sub frame out and put the motor and trans in as one. Other than that it went fairly smooth.

Did you put headers on it? I did't see any exhaust and it looks pretty tight in there.

Yes I am going to put ceramic coated long tube headers, with 02 bungs and collecters. Yes it will be tight but not as tight as, OJ trying to put on a glove!
