Default 72 suburban and 71 malibu need swaps!!!

hi guys i am new here and i have a 72 suburban that is awaiting a genIII engine trans for a driver and a 71 malibu that is awaiting an ls1 6 speed swap for the weekend cruiser.anybody done these specifically that can help? any pics, help or tips would be great. also looking for the donor vehicle for the suburban--prefer a wrecked truck or something along those lines....something that wont mind a complete robbing of parts, but still has them all in tact to begin with

Not a Suburban per se, but the swap should be more or less the same as the one I did with a 2000 Camaro SS LS1 / 4L60E into my '70 half-ton GMC. It's really not bad at all, and the Camaro accessories fit nicely...I imagine the truck ones will too.

I have a 1969 Burb w/factory 396 so it'll probably stay put, but my 1961 Stepside has an LS1/T56. That was not an ordinary swap though. Look on eBay, car-parts.com, or better yet join copart.com Post pics of the Burb!

Nice '70 I also have a '69 swb stepside that I was going to convert to fleet until I bought the Burb. Now it's goin up for auction. I plan to own a 67-72 swb fleet or blazer after a few other projects are complete.

Thanks. The biggest problem so far is finding longtube headers...I have shorties now, but I want LTs. The GTO headers should fit, but seems like most of those are midlengths; F-body LTs run into the frame on the driver's side thanks to the kick they all take right before the collector.
