Default hmmm what to do....

i am about to start a project...it is a 1966 el camino and i want to put a LSx engine in it....i dont know wether i should go auto matic or get the 6 speed....this is going to be my daily driver when i am done with it and plan on taking a couple of cruises(hot rod power tour, etc.) also...

What kind of power levels or mods are you wanting to run? I think a 6 speed would be trick although I am running an auto(which is where the shrifter comes into action)

I started with the 4L60 then went to a Th400. Now It has a T56 sitting behind it. After driving my buddies 6speed Fbody I think this will be the last trans change.

i found a 8.1 liter out of a 2004 chevy truck...i wonder if that might be something to use.... i have a buick stage 2 455 with a th2004r in it now....

Would be bad *** to see someone stuff that 8.1 in a f-fody. Does anyone make forged internals for those? Get a ton fo TQ outta that. Gl

If you are going to drag race it go with the automatic, otherwise a T56 is more fun on a day to day basis IMO

i am leaning more and more to the 8.1 liter....325hp@4200rpms and 447 lb-ft @3200rpms...very nice. i know the 4l80e will bolt up to this block, but will a t56??
