I was looking at your pics gallery, where did you buy your intake? I want to keep my battery in the factory spot, which means running the intake there isn't happening.

Thanks!!

Digging up an old thread....

I have '98 F-Body manifolds for my 5.3 swap that is nearly finished. I was wondering where you guys bought the exhaust flange that bolts to each manifold and connects with the rest to the exhaust? I plan on fabbing my own exhaust in my garage and these are the only pieces I am having trouble locating.

Thanks!

I got my intake off eBay, it was a tube for a newer model with a cone filter, but i relocated the battery

As for exhaust flanges, I bought 2.5" or 3" downpipes pre-welded here on the forum. Not sure where to buy them.

Anybody know if you can buy just the "block" part of the ECE mounts? I have stands and old style mounts I can use, just need the part that connects to the engine block and straddles the mount. Hate to spend $219 just for those 2 pcs.
thanks

I bought Brother's tubular frame stands ($120) and Trans-Adapt LSx engine adapter plates that included motor mounts for ($50). Plus, I could of used the the Trans-Adapt adapter plates with my old frame stands if I wanted. I just figured I was better off with the extra room.

No, they are aren't near as wide as the stock sheet metal frame stands so it lets you get around the stands easier.

Hard to explain, check out my swap thread, there are pics.

Default headers

I have a 69 c-10 i just put a ls 6.0 out of a 2004 2500 hd truck in it. Using trans adapt motor mounts and a tci flex plate to go to the old school 400 turbo, and ordered my wiring harness from Howell EFI performance. Everything is pretty much going fine with the swap except my exhaust. I am having trouble finding exhaust headers to fit. My stock maifolds want even fit (driver side does, passenger side does not). Does any one have any sugestions. I would really apperciate it.

I have set of modified Hedman Torque-Step '98-'02 F-Body long tube headers that I used with my '69 C10 SWB LSx swap that I don't need anymore due to parting out the truck and using the motor/trans in my Datsun.

They are ready to bolt on, $200+ shipping.

Just let me know.

I used a set of early LS1 manifolds on one truck, and I modified a set of headers from the 98-02 trans-am for the other truck. The header mod is a pain.

I appreciate the info. Let me make a few calls tommorro and i will get back with u on those headers. I live in kentucky so that shipping is probably going to be high. I have a mismatched set of f-body headers now i got off my buddy but there going to require a little rework to get to fit. I have even thought about flipping the manifolds upside down and going with a turbo set up.

VATS (vehicle anti theft system). Have a tuner turn it off for you.

I would check the www.67-72chevytrucks.com forum, honestly. Those guys are totally nutso about these trucks and can give you the answers you need.

Meanwhile, this truck is torn down to the frame and has been for a year-plus, hoping to get back on it in 2011.

I don't regularly check the forums, so if you're thinking about PM'ing me about stuff... I probably won't answer in a timely fashion.
