Default LSx carb manifolds?

I have seen the Edelbrock and the GMPP manifolds, but I was wondering if anyone else out there were making manifolds for a carb'd LSx setup?

Anyone have any information or links? Im eventually planning on a blow-thru carb setup on a '72 Chevy C10 pickup.

with the GM intake you still have to buy the MSD ignition controller, which isnt bad at 304(the gm intake and msd setup would be cheaper, 660ish)but you still need to use your old harness with the msd setup(thats if you have one)
Either way it isnt a bad deal, its a difference of $20-$30...

my understanding is that the MSD came with a harness, just as the edelbrock, and you can also buy a short harness for the MSD box to locate it on the edelbrock intake.
ill be doing more research soon, as im prolly going to sell my edelbrock box for the MSD one.

Yeah, my bad, does come with the harness, but the extension is costly:p($178)

its worth every penny.
the edelbrock box has NO rev limiter whatsoever. and the timing pills are INSANE! 34 degrees is the least amount of timing.
not good for my nitrous setup at all.
i only gained 3mph on a 100 shot (1/8 mile) which sucks. i should get 6-8mph at least.

im looking into getting custom pills made for this box via msd so i dont have to rebuy the box from MSD.

sucks all around. they reel you in and toss you in the cooler, just like a fat fish.
good luck.

Can you hook up one of their timing retard boxes to it?

edelbrock and MSD say no.
you need the new 6010 msd box to do anything at all.
the edelbrock box is bolt on and go.
the 6 pills for different timing curves do nothing.
ive tested all of them driving, track, dyno.... no difference.

the edelbrock is a nice piece, dont get me wrong... it just lacks adjustibility.

Quick question, maybe you can help me out if youve done it already, but how did you hook up your alternator once you did the carb setup?
Just trying to figure out how to wire up the 5.3 alt I have....

Hmm... I see. That would be a tad difficult for what I want to do then.

im using a std chey alternator.
welded some tabs under the car and im using a rod end to adjust the alt.
unsure of the stock wiring, but a local alternator shop here can make it a "one wire" alternator like the older styles for not too much money.
good luck.
