Hey BadtexasZ28, what are you putting the 5.3L in? I'm looking at using one of these in my 71 Formula Firebird so I was curious if you were doing something similar.

BTW, my 6.0 in my 2000 Chevy 3/4 truck has a cable from the peddle and another from the box on the drivers side firewall (I think this is the chasis box). Maybe that will help...

my setup is going into a 1952 chevy styleline coupe with the LM7 i have now and a t56 behind it, i also have 1984 vette front and rear suspension to go in it.

my TB looks like the vetts TB, electric solenoid on the side that is connected to the throttle blade.

I didn't think they went to the electronic TB on the trucks until '04...could be wrong though. You could have gotten lucky and gotten an '04 motor too.

That or someone tossed another intake/tb on it....
You dont really want the truck intake anyway, unless you dont have the money to swap it out, but id put an 01+ LS6 style on it...

Double check the numbers on it if you can
Sorry I dont know where to check them though, hopefully someone has a link.

the engine was a pull out from a wrecked 2002 Yukon, VIN number confirms this. The casting number i have is for a LM7.

As far as the intake, 1) i would have to change to a LS1 style water pump to make a LS6 intake work, 2)GM High Tech(i believe it was them) did a comparison check between all of the stock intake manifolds and a fast intake and concluded that of course the fast intake flowed the best followed by the truck intake and in third place was the LS6 intake, granted only by a couple HP. So i think i will stick to the truck intake, and i like the idea of an electric TB too.

I worked on suburban(2003) the other day that was throttle by wire. And yes, my other 75 camaro project right now has a 5.3 truck motor going w/ TRUCK manifold. Great torque manifold.

I don't know if throttle by wire is controlled by body module or not. Shouldn't be from what I know. I'll be up at the shop tomorrow working on my vette and the project camaro(5.3 install). I'll look at my Alldata software and see if it does or not. I'll PM ya when I know something....

Default drive by wire

throttle actuator control uses tac module mounted on firewall
near brake booster and accelerator pedal position sensors
which are at the pedal

Yep, just like 200ban said. I did see on the wiring diagram that there is a serial bus(2 wires)that the Throttle Actuator Module talks to the pcm. Nothing related to body control module. It looks like the Throttle module and the pedal position sensor should get the accelerator working by itself as a standalone unit. If you have the throttle by wire pcm I would wire the serial bus up(2 wires)just in case the pcm needs it for throttle position reference. If you have a regular pcm that was originally a cable setup then it should work fine as long as there is a throttle position sensor on the throttle body.

give dana a call at lt1 wiring I do not have his number accessable but his webiste is lt1350.com. I do not see needing the body harness to use the fly by wire, you would just need the reastat(sp?) style pedal
