Default 5.3 to turbo 400 questions

I want to put a 5.3 to a turbo 400. Has anyone did this? Or know of a web site? Also motor mounts to put it in a jeep frame?

Probably have to fab up your own motor mounts, shouldnt be too hard...

th400 bolts up just like a th350 does, all you need is a tci flexplate(stronger than the flimsy stocker) and a torque converter spaced out for the combo ls1/th400/th350.....

How much of a spacer do I need to put between flex plate and the torque converter?

You dont need one if you get the correct conveter with the longer shaft

If you dont(and get a standard length shaft on the converter), the same spacer you need is used on the trucks
Heres the PNs
crank spacer: 12563532
c.s. bolts (6): 12553332

Advanced adapters has motor mounts for Gen III into a jeep! Advance Adapters
You will need a crank spacer to get it to up unless it's an early 99 5.3. Why not run a 4L65E trans. better first gear plus over drive and plenty of beef! Plus your PCM should control it!

You dont need the crank spacer if you buy the correct converter, and if hes buying a converter anyway might as well get the right one, if he uses some stocker from a th350 he has then use the spacer..

Get a 6 liter flex plate it come with the spacer on it. 40 bucks from junkyard. Used it on my 5.3 to a th400 works fine. 5.3 flex plates are dished 6th are flat with a spacer.
