Air intake system for LS1 in second gen

For those who have put an LS-1 into a second gen, what are you doing for an air intake system?

Any pics would be appreciated.

In hot rodding magazine a few people put Kinsler.com intake on. Some ultima gtr ls-1 guys do also.

I dont have any pics of mine right now, but I bought a 90 degree elbow that my maf hooks up to, then a short straight piece after the maf that hooks up to a piece of exhaust pipe with a 30 degree bend in it that I put a cone filter from summit racing on.
To figure out what bend I needed in the pipe I bought the rubber pieces first and then bent a piece of wire in the shape I wanted the muffler shop to make.

Mine is in the engine compartment now and during the summer the intake temp was always really high, like 120 to 135. I was a bitch to start when it was hot. My solution is to use the setup out of a 2003 corvette. That runs the intake over the radiator and put's the air cleaner in front of the radiator, just behind the grille. I've got the parts but gotta cut a little metal and make a bracket.

Whatever you do try to get cool air.

I would like to figure out some sort of setup that would utilize my cowl induction hood. I have seen it before on hotrodstohell.net but that car was also supercharged. Has anbody done this on an NA motor. Or would the the angle of the intake piping be too extreme to really take advantage of the cowl induction?

You could probably fab up something that would be similar to the factory SS hoods for the LT-1's.

I put on a Suncoast Creations SS hood and their airbox ( http://www.geocities.com/marc94z/airbox.html ) but I'm sorry to say I never felt the 20-30 "Gut wrenching Horsepower" that was promised.

I'm leaning towards just fabbing up a tube that goes out towards the side in the front.
