A 90 Model Mustang Gt Coupe would be a nice LS1 Swap... the first 1 I can get my hands on will be put up and sit around till I can build a 382 stroker with a 6 speed to go into it, it might take some time but I will find one and do it. A friend of mine just bought a Triumph Spitfire and I am trying to convince him to put an LS1 into it, he he he. I would like to see a Chevy Vega or Monza with 1. I have a freind with a Monza with a stock LT4 and 6 speed from a 97 SS
We have some good ideas, we just need to apply them!!!!!!

I've got a 2000 Impalla that I wish was an Impalla SS. I have an extra LS1 longblock but I don't think I'm ballsey enough to start cuttiing up the Impy

Jim98WS6, I don't think you'd be doing any hacking on an Impala! There are ones sent to the Middle East as LS1 Caprice SS's! Check this out (I guess it qualifies as an LS1 Conversion/Hybrid!) http://www.gmme.com/chevrolet_cars/c...caprice_ss.htm

That car is based on an Opel (GM Europe) platform. It's a stretched version of the Holden Commodore in Australia. Which is very similar to the Catera that we get here.

All of them are rear drive and no relation at all to the front drive Impala.

Check out the freaky plastic cover they put on the Holden LS1:

Nice headers though.

They also have a coupe (why aren't these cars available here?)

Of course the late 80s Jag XJ series could be popular, even living out in the sticks like me I've seen 2 with 350s in them, and one with an LT1.

RX7 is a great car for the swap as well, I know someone who killed in autocross with a 302 in the last gen RX7 (FC?)

This is what I want though....
Beck's Lister replica 1700 lbs, typically have a small block Chev in them, I'm sure an LS1 could be made to work though A guy ran the One Lap a few years back this one , pushing over 600 hp I think. When he could get it hooked up it was a rocket, too bad it'd haze the tires in every gear

WIL:

Shoot me your e-mail. I want to talk about that Mercedes idea. Me and a buddy are gearing up for RX7 swaps, but I've always thought fondly of the Mercedes. I've had a few in the family. Always thought a good American V8 would be good in them. LS1, yeah!

How about a Shelby Cobra Replica?

Lord knows there are enough 5.0 donor cars around... try to find one less motor/trans. Plus, you have the advantage of starting with a complete car out of a box of parts and a frame. Clearance the firewall out of the car!

I,m probably going to try it in my '81 Malibu.I like the idea of having two cars with the same engine. What I WON'T be doing is a T56 swap-in.I'd do it with a GMPP crate engine because it comes with most of the stuff specifically for swaps.

I want pics if you get it done, but im telling you it will be a 11 on a 1-10 scale on difficulty. 10 being a pain in the butt.

The General had better not disgrace the '04 GTO with anything less then an LS1 as they did with the WIMPalla SS (Super Shitty)

how about a Sprite/MG Midget?
Car weighs about 1600 lb with about 350 lb of useless 50 HP iron 4-banger. Of course, the stock axles, brakes, etc. would have to go, but a streetable 400+ HP car that weighs in under 2000 lb?

Miata?
Chevy II (early Nova)?
Fiat Topolino?
Honda Civic?

I don't see the point in hacking up a perfectly
good Typhoon. Mine ran 13.20's with a bone stock
engine with just a chip/filter/fuel pump...on
street tires.

You'd be much better off to just get a AWD bravada of the same vintage and put the LS1 in that.

In other words, why mess with something that was
already engineered better in 1992/93 than most
sports cars are today.

I'm planning on a FD conversion. There aer also a couple of other people doing this to. So I know the LS1 fits already.

I will soon be involved with helping my brother a bit with a LS1/4l60E swap in his 80 Malibu.

The car is setup to HOOK and with H/C,our built 4l60E,Vig.4400,and all the rest of the goodies,oh yeh and a little N20 it should fly.

Raceweight should be about 3100lbs.

whatta think on the gun low 10's ?
