Maybe for my next project ...

From what I understand their was some interest within GM to market an LS1-powered Impala SS. I'm not sure why it was killed ... I probably would have bought one.
Anyway, I went out and bought the next best thing: a 2001 Z28. And it comes with a manual transmission and rear drive. Though my kids complain about not having their own window now ...

I really liked the previous Impala SS and the LT1 Camaros. The C5 is one of the best looking cars ever. But for me, pretty much the entire 2001-2 lineup from GM ([i]excluding{/I] the trucks but definately including the bloated Avalanche and Cadillac SUV) are stinkers.
I actually think that that last Aurora is the best looking 4 door produced by GM. Too bad it doesn't look like the cancellation of Olds has hurt their resale though.
At least we agree on that! And I agree with you on C5s as well
I don't know why, but the new Impala and Monte Carlo catch my eye every time I see one. I guess GM must have used people like for their focus groups !
