motormounts What is everybody using for motormounts in their conversions. I installed the ls1 in a 66 nova. We use the corvette mount on the block sitting on a rubber grommet to the frame and am experiencing vibration.Maybe I got the corvette rubber grommet today but don't know if it will fit. I think the f-body mount might work. Any thoughts. <img src="gr_grin.gif" border="0">

I made it out of the original f-body mount, some chrome moly tube, rollcage gussets, and a polyurethane-based rod end. I don't know what kind of vibration absorption it will have yet. But it is adjustable <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">

Re: motormounts My mounts mimic the stock F-body ones exactly including the very loose tolerances for the main attaching bolt.

Re: motormounts mgreen what kind of car is that? Looks like you took a f-body mount and then made an attachment to the frame. I ordered the f-body mounts yesterday and will probably do something similar. Mine is a 66 nova with a tube front end (alston).

There will also be a horizontal bar going from the thru-bolt to the frame. My swap is a little trickier because of the steering shaft.
That thru-bolt style motor mount that the LS1 uses definately makes things easier to mock up and fab. I just put the motor where I wanted it, then measured the distance from the bolt to the frame. Cut the 2 pieces of metal, drilled the holes, spot welded it together and checked it out.
