A better alternative would be to pick up a used 99 that already comes with the LS1. F-bodies have very poor resale values these days ... it's a buyer's market. You can buy a used for a lot less than it will cost you to upgrade your current V6.

Why didn't you just get an LS1 f-body in the first place?

i did this job.it sucks...my **** is all OEM looking..i used only the v6 body..im in the salvage biz so it was feasible for me i bought the v6 with no drivetrain and bought a ls1 smacked in the rear..you need EVERY piece for that to work right.....guarenteed...do not do this swap without a dedicated parts car....

Florida? Are you in JAX? I was talking to a guy the other night about this. I didn't realize until he pulled away he had 98+Camaro he wanted to swap the LS1 into. If this or isn't you...just get an LS1 car. You would be in more time than the project is worth. V6 cars are getting almost as much as LS1 cars used. I have seen multiple LS1 cars here in FL for $10k or less.
