ls1 in a 1993 rx7 I'm doing it... It's coming along nicely. I'm hoping to have it done in another couple months. here are a couple preliminary photos of the engine going in....

That is my dream swap, hybrid car.
I LOVE the looks of those RX7's, but the rotary keeps me from buying one.
A LS1, and 93 RX7 make for one great all around car. I hear that you can get a close if not perfect 50/50 weight distribution, is that true?

Re: ls1 in a 1993 rx7 I also want to do that swap. Ive seen the Granny Speed shop kits for the LT1s. A LS1 in that little car is gona be awsome. Its already got the 4.11 rear too! I have to wait untill I get a house w/ a garage before I can do one though.

Where you able tp keep the poweer steering? or did you just switch to a FC's mauanl rack? or did you modifiy the FD's rack to a manual to get the clearance needed? Also how the hood clearance under there? Good luck and hopefully I get my FDLS1 project upa going soon.

Re: ls1 in a 1993 rx7 Stay away from Grannys Nothing but trouble. Check on www.torquecentral.com under V8 rx7 forum for the new LS1 conversion kits from A guy in ALABAMA I think. I bought the kit from Grannys and it didnt work at all he stiffed me about $350. I made my own LS1 mounts and all else which is easy.

Re: ls1 in a 1993 rx7 sorry I've been dragging a little here. I've had much difficulty with Grannys(the place that markets v8/rx7 swaps). Don't buy parts from him if you want them within a year, or if you want an honest person to deal with. I'm going to have to finish up the subframe and xmember myself. I do have some new wheels on, 285/30/18's on the rear, 255/35/18's in front. My roll bar is almost done... it is turning out pretty well, but there's not much room to to the side bar since the car is so small. I'm guessing the car will weigh about 2800, 2990 race weight. Not too bad. It's got a 3.90 rear. With the t56, I should be in the very top of 4th in the quarter. I'm thinking that 10.5-11.0 should be reasonable with 450 rwhp and MT streets. (if I don't break anything.. big if).
