LS1 in a 3rd gen exhaust question.
The manifolds that were on the engine that I am using for the swap are screwed, and since I have to change them out, I really want to get headers. I know the last that I heard, someone was working on a set for production. Can anyone tell me if they are on the market yet, and if so from where. If I cant find them, then I will need a set of the 01 or 02 manifolds for the LS1 if anyone has some they are will ing to part with. Please let me know. Thanks for your time.

Hawk's third gen parts has their set out. Long tubes, with or without cats and y-pipe. Expensive, but your only option.
I'm going with the 01+ manifolds because I can't lose any more ground clearance with longtubes.

I am in the same boat with the header situation. I got a 6.0L going into my 88 IROC. Everyone tells me Hawks lt's are the only way to go. I have tried e-mailing a few header companies (KOOK'S!!) but they never got back to me. Want to see if any 98-02 lt's will fit.

The 4th gen runs the subframe rails different than the 3rd. The 4th gen headers point out towards the side of the car and will run right into our 3rd gen frame rails. Hawks come down then straight back, doesnt give you a ton of room to work with, but at least it makes it physically possible to get exhaust under there.
Considering how much it would cost to have custom headers made, the hawks arnt that expensive.

I took a look at the haws headers, and they look great, the only thhing is that they are a little out of my budget still. I think that I will be going with the o1+ manifolds. If there is anyone here that has done the LT swap in their car and has a set they are willing to part with, please let me know.

I would not pay $750 for a set of headers that may not fit.

You'll live a happier life if you get help. I'd start with the misdirected anger issues, then the Freudian projection, and finally with getting grammatical skills up to high school level.

im running a set of z06 manifolds on mine, but i can tell you the ONLY WAY they are going to fit is with a tubular k member.
there is NO WAY they will work with a stocker.
if you can find a set for free, or really cheap, id try them.
ive been almost 96mph in the 1/8 on these manifolds with a 3" y pipe.
im looking at a set of stainless works headers(hawks) right now. should have them on my car within the week.
i hope they fit!
pricey, but when you account they are all stainless, its a bargain.

skippy, if you have connections to get custom exhaust, more power to you
crainholio, you arnt even being slightly usefull in this thread, your just stirring the ****, so kindly STFU and get out unless you have some usefull input.
TJ, those are some pretty ncie numbers. I've got mine installed in teh bay, and the left side header hits the fuel lines, but no big deal I can relocated them, the pass side clears just fine. I think you will be happy with them.
Now if I could just my car to fire up I would be able to hear em
