Default Who here has swapped an LS6 into their Fbody?

I'm just wondering if it would be worth the money and more reliable than a heads/cam LS1.

How much does a complete LS6 engine go for? Not like I can't just sell my LS1 so dollar wise I see the two options about being the same.

Also, forgot to mention, I am only considering this because A. more reliable B. more streetable and C. legality issues, namely emissions.

I know I can make an LS1 faster than an LS6, but problems arise. I'd rather avoid them, and just take the LS6 as it is (plus my mods are transferrable). I don't care about being the fastest car in the neighborhood. I just want to be faster than average.

Also, how much work AFTER the engine is installed is required? I imagine PCM programming...?

A search of this board would turn up previous discussion of this topic:

LS1/LS6 = same shortblock. Slightly different heads, different intake, different PCM tuning. Keep your motor in there and do Heads/Cam/Intake - would be cheaper and easier and show better performance gains than a complete stock for stock engine swap. You only wanna go thru engine swap hassles if the improvement is Huge. 25-30hp ain't huge (and you're not gonna see the same Z06 hp from an LS6 in an FBody - engine bay is too cramped for free breathing and exhaust).
