94 Miata
Not an LSx, but wish that I would have went that route
406ci SBC
T56 out of 99 WS6 using mcloed spacer and clutch
7.5" Ford IRS rear out of 91 T-Bird
I came here mainly for info on the T56, but quickly realized that LS1 tech is a wealth of knowledge.

Well - it's still in the planning/parts-gathering stage, but... here goes nothing.
Vehicle: 1985 Pontiac Fiero 2m4 (3-speed auto... ugh.) Notchback, she's still stock and in need of restoration (interior and exterior.)
Engine: LS1
Transmission: M6 (GM F40, RPO: MU9)
Supporting changes to the rest of the vehicle: Far too many to list.
As for pictures:
This is her the day I bought her. $675... needs some TLC, but it's all rust free.
And here's a picture of her current home.
She's now eagerly awaiting the engine swap, because this engine isn't cutting it anymore.

69 Cutlass Convertale currently off the frame with a 99 Firebird LS1 to go in it. Working on frame mounts to accept LS1 motor mounts. Hope to afford twin-screw supercharger on stock motor. Have a lot to learn...

82 Corvette with Heads and Cam LSx
Just the facts ma'am.
The Dyno Run
Play time at the track.
I'm building it to be a solid all-arounder with a slight bias towards road racing (eventually).

I am building a 1948 Chevy 5 window pickup. I have the chassis complete with custom build coil over suspension in the front and leafs in the back. There is NO BONDO on any of the body. I am hoping to install a LS-1 along with a t-56 tranny.
THIS IS MY FIRST BUILD. So I am learning ALOT. and I dont know MUCH. If anyone has any tips, I am MORE THAN HAPPY TO LISTEN. Espeacially tips on how to make the tranny fit. I am thinking since it is a new build (and since the motor and tranny match) that the only thing I will have to modify is maybe the shifter. Since this is an OLD truck and there is not much space in the cab. It is good to be a member here and I hope to get some reply's on this. THANKS ALOT !!

- Decide if you're going to go Fly By Wire (C5 Corvette) or mechanical (F-Body), This implies difference in throttle body, computer program, and even the intake in the case of LS1 intakes (I recommend the LS6 intake)
- Source for computer and harness (Painless Harnesses are really not that easy to work with) if it doesn't comes with your engine.
- You'll probably need some metal fab skills (not a trivial skill) to create a trans tunnel as I don't imagine the T56 will fit in that truck.
- Motor Mount adapters for proper location in the engine bay (may be available aftermarket as they were for my C3 Corvette)
- You'll almost certainly need a new drive shaft as the distance between the trans and diff wil change
- I like the Slik Stix shifter formally from McLeod. They come with many different offset options, so you can get the shifter to come up in the right location. Call McLeod and ask to speak to Red Roberts. It's not a McLeod stock item, you have to go direct to Red.
Anyway, here's a link to my conversion.
You may find some of it useful. Be prepared to spend more time and money than you originally anticipated to do things properly. Don't cut corners with cheap used parts for the driveline. Nothing is more annoying than a car with a nice engine and **** trans/clutch. Buy new where new is warranted. Take your time and good luck.
