Default 82 El Camino any ideas for Air intake Box?

Just installed a LS1 from a 2000 z28 into a 82 El Camino. I did not get the originial air intake box and filter. It does not look like it would fit under my hood anyways. <img border="0" alt="[judgement]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_judge.gif" />

I have been thinking of moving battery to the back and fabricating <img border="0" alt="[judgement]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_judge.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[judgement]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_judge.gif" /> some sort of ram air intakes from below the bumper or grill.

If anyone has any pictures or ideas on what would work, I would love to see them.

Should be similar to any G-Body 81-87 conversion setups I would think like John's Monte Carlo SS setup...

JumpinJohn I'm looking at the same thing right now. I'm putting an LT1 into an 82 Elky. I'm planning on going to the drivers side though. The original charcole canister is going away and will leave that side open for the intake. I looked at what John did on his Monte and I'm not sure it will work on my Elky. The fronts a little different but may be able to use some of his ideas. If you come up with something let me know. I'll do the same since the intake is basically the same for both motors.

Any pictures of your setup?
