the truck engines aren't known as ls1's, although they are similar LS series.
LS6 is the corvette z06 engine of the past,
LS2 was/is used in the GTO, CTS-V (right?) and newer SSR i believe.
LS7 is the 427 cube monster in the new z06.
olly
LS1 is just an engine code and every GM engine has one. For the GEN-III's:
LS1 5.7L aluminum block, generally considered the most desirable.
LR4 4.8L iron block, generally considered the least desirable, but it does run good!
LM7 5.3L iron block, very common and makes a nice package.
L59 5.3L iron block, flex fuel engine. can run up to 85% ethanol.
LM4 5.3L aluminum block, hard to find but a good catch if you can get one.
LQ4 6.0L iron block, the most plentiful 6.0L, iron heads in 99-00.
LQ9 6.0L iron block, higher compression, 345 hp.
All in all, a great running engine for every budget.
