That, along with the highest R.P.M's that the engine was run at? Also...Is there a built in rev limiter into the computer(no load situation)? Just curious, as anyone would be, that is considering a donor engine for a swap. Thanks in advance. Ed

No, the PCM does not keep mileage or record RPM. It does have a rev limiter which can be adjusted with LS1 Edit or something similar.

That is not completly correct. Depending on the vehicle, some do, but most do not.
If you are asking about a LS1 powered truck, the "miles since codes reset" mileage is stored. If you reset the codes, the mileage is dumped, and reset to 0.

The original question was not specific to trucks, or LS1 powered vehicles. The 4.3 powered S-Series vehicles, as well as the Northstar powered vehicles store the mileage in the PCM. Others do as well, but it changes year to year.
Your answer ws correct if limited to LS1 powered trucks.

Thanks for all the great info! My particular LS1/4L60E is out of a 2001 Camaro SS. Sorry I neglected to mention this in my original question. Just trying see if the engine/transmission I bought is what I was told it was. The guy I bought it from said it was drag raced, but only had a total of 3,000 miles on it before it came out of the car. The package is very clean. A couple of piston tops look like they just barely kissed the valves. But thats it. Thanks again guys.
