Who makes that rear tire you got there? I like the tread design a bit better than my pilot sports.

Yes. Who makes it/what model/where to buy, and is it DOT approved?

I believe they are the same as the rear viper tire Dunlop makes a set and so do 3 other manufactures.

Its a Goodyear Eagle F1 GS Fiorano if I remember correctly. The tires from the above picture were purchased with an Ultima GTR kit from the UK and imported to the US. A great build site for the Ultima: http://craig-ultima.com/ If you send Craig an email he can give you more details on the tires. He does run these in the US and several others also with street legal inspected cars so I THINK they are DOT approved.....

From Ultima sizes are: http://www.ultimasports.co.uk/
335/30/ZR/18 tyres pair.
$1180.00

245/35/ZR/18 tyres pair.
$696.00

Some Toyo RA-1's would be a good choice as well. R compound and good on the street plus great on the track. Streetable race tire at about $400 each.

That Ultima is coming along nicely. Nice work thus far!

The Ultima has been a dream car of mine for years. I cant beleive its actually gonna be mine soon. Its driving me crazy only having photos of the parts.

I have lived in Hong Kong for 12 years (originally from OZ) and its not easy to mess around with cars here, space is at a premium. Its also not easy to register anything "different" here - I have worked a way around this.... And the taxes on new cars a very high (to stop the roads getting crowded).
There is no import tax, but there is a "first registration tax" which is based on the value of the car
Up to US$20K = 35%
US$20-40K = 65%
US$40-65K = 80%
Over US$65K = 100%

... but I have managed to get around all of this and get my fingers on one of these fine machines. Flew to the UK in July for a test ride... once you've been in one you will do ANYTHING to have one! I have had all sorts of stuff, a worked Porsche C4, 350hp Ford Escort RS, Ferrari 355, Ducati 748R..... NOTHING comes close.

The factory demonstrator had a "550hp" SB chev.... but I have seen the dyno charts from the builder and they often use a correction factor of 14%, so it was more likely 480hp.... and that was "scarey fast". When I got back to the office the staff asked me what it was like. The only way I could describe it was "its the sort of car most of you will go for a ride in ONCE, after that you will be too **** scared to get back in"

The acceleration is brutal, they corner on rails and the braking makes your eyeballs hit the inside of your sunnies and your nipples bleed.

The spaceframe chassis and the polished aluminium floor give it a very racey feel and really complete the whole experience. Much different to a production car with all the nice plastic trims..... this is a race car on the road. There'd be many cars on LS1tech faster in a straight line, but add in the cornering, braking, seating so low to the ground etc and this this is the dogs nuts.

My LS should be around 570 in it's current stock form with the Magna. Once I have passed emissions etc, then there may be some changes (if I still have a need for speed ). I'm getting it tested with the blower so that it will be registered with "forced induction", this way the cops will not be able to say **** if they open the hood and see the blower...... so from here on in it will be internal work that they wont know about.... its a bit hard to hide a bottle of nitros in an Ultima, maybe I can find somewhere.

Always wanted a black supercharged car, until I found the Ultima I thought that would be a Hot Rod........... now the Hot Rod is #2 on the list.

If any of you are interested in an Ultima GTR Allen has his for sale for $85K. I know it sounds like a lot but a KIT is 60K with the options he has and with the drivetrain that he has you are looking a over 100k with all the tuning. He did a great job on the build.

you might have to register to see these don't know as I have been a member for some time.

Crafty888 - don't mean to jack your thread. Your car is crazy. I have my G50/52 trans ready to go and will be ordering my kit from Ted in Jan. Then its a 4 month wait for it to get here. I am trying to do an LS6 in mine. Did you get your kit from him (factory)or Jeff Schwartz? Jeff built on amazing car!

I got the kit from the factory, engine/gearbox/wheels/gauges thru Jeff. I recommend talking to Jeff about supplying an engine for you.... he knows the car and the engine and how to make it all work.

Last Saturday the engine was put on the dyno. It recorded a best of 557.7 hp at 6000 RPM and 527.7 lb ft of torque at 4500 rpm.

Apart from the magnacharger and the throttle body this is a stock LS2 including stock cast 2.5 inch outlet exhaust manifolds and stock Vette catalytic converters. Heads, cam, headers and free flow cat should see these numbers improve significantly.
