You are in luck. Abbot enterprises makes exactly what you are looking for. They call it a Cable X box. I have heard it works pretty good, but is pricey. Let me see if I can find the website somewhere.

Yes, I think it's around $300. John B has it on his Monte I believe.

It's here:

Default mechanical to electronic speedo adapter?

Chances are this doesn't exist, but I thought I'd see if anyone had seen/used one...

I'd like to continue using my mechanical speedometer, because I don't want to rebuild my dash. However, I'd like to get the speed input into the PCM so that I could use the cruise control from the PCM. The car has a vacuum operated cruise control on it which I could use, but I thought it would be cleaner to use the electronic one from the computer - less controllers, hoses, etc in the engine compartment.

Anyway to do this, I need an electronic pulse generator that I can run my speedo cable through. Basically, mechanical in and out, with a electrical output as well.

Anybody seen anything like this?

Thanks!

Hmmm...

That looks like it will drive my speedo if I have an electronic signal. Unfortunately, I need a something to generate the electronic signal. (damn antique cars!)

Maybe I can put a reluctor wheel on the driveshaft and mount a sensor for it. Does anyone know the tooth count on the reluctor wheels that are in the T56 or 460E?

Kinda confused what you need, but this might help.

if you need a mechanical signal from a T56 try this site, www.jagsthatrun.com
