Default PS Pump w/ Reservoir

Are there supposed to be clips or some other fastener to hold the reservoir to the pump assembly? It looks like the pump and reservoir have slots on the sides for some type of clip to snap in but I can't seem to find any info in service manual or on parts CD.

There are retainers that are only available with the plastic reservoir. They snap into those slots after you install the reservoir onto the pump. I never found those separately.

Thanks, not really what I wanted to hear but I thought there was something that went in those slots. Bought the pump used and hadn't looked at it closely until I mounted it. Guess I'll need to do some digging to see if I can come up with a couple of clips or fab something up myself.

LS67, appreciate you making the offer. I checked with my new best friend (Chevy parts counter) and he said they come with the reservoir kit. It was late so thankfully I didn't go ahead and order it. I'll send you a PM with mailing info. Let me know if there's any cost involved, happy to pay for any shipping and handling.

I'm running the fbody pump with reservoir on top. I just need the clips that hold the reservoir down on the pump. I should have caught this earlier, just too many parts and too little time. Got the last of the bolts I had been looking for today. We should be ready to drop this thing in over the long weekend next week. For those who haven't seen earlier post this is an LS1 going into an 88 GTA, it's my 15 year old sons. He worked and saved to buy the car (at 14) and then the LS1. This project has been a great learning experience for him.

Neither actually look exactly the same but the second one comes closest and the clips shown (#9 & 10) are what I'm looking for.

I'm not trying to steal this thread, but does anyone have the P/N for the reserviour alone? My LS1 is from a '98 Camaro. The dealer said I would have to by the WHOLE pump. They didn't show a P/N for the reserviour alone on their computer. I believe this would be the same pump crewchief is talking about.

ls67, any luck on the clips? Parts guy at my local dealer called me back to confirm that he couldn't get them individually, comes with reservoir for $44.

RFERG43, need to get back on your parts guy, reservoir does come stand alone. Forgot to ask my guy for part number but I'll try to get it when I call him back later today/tomorrow.

I threw a good reservoir in the trash last week becasue I'd converted to a seperate reservoir. It is still there. I think I threw the clips in the scrap metal pile and could probably find them.

Anybody who wants them can have them for the price of the packaging and postage as long as you are not in any hurry. PM me if you can use them.

May take you up on it but will hold off and see if one of the other guys comes through first. Don't want to take more than I need. RFERG43 might be able to use this too. Thanks for the offer!
