price to convert

im wanting to put a t56 with a ls1 into a early 90s camero. i ws wondering how much this would cost me. my friends and afmily and i will eb doing all work. so if anyone could help me so i can start saving and now when i can start the project.

Hey man. I'm just about finished putting an LS1 into a 3rd gen RX-7. I didn't go cheap on anything but I didn't get out of control either. It's going to cost me about $10,000 total that includes the $4200 I spent on the engine. If you want to keep the engine stock subtract $1500 for the cam, springs, rods, LS1Edit etc etc.

my plan is to leave it all stock. and then do some looks, id like to paint a earlys 90 camero a bright ornage color. so after buying the car i am lookn at aroun 8 grand then??

I could repeat the swap into my C4 vette for $5000 easily. ($3000 of that would be a ebay ls1/t56)

If you plan on doing the work yourself you can probably do it for about 6k depending on how much you spend on the drivetrain. Unfortunately, it is hard to resist mods when the engine is out.

I had to have a lot of stuff fabricated because of course my car came with a rotary engine that added to the cost. I think $6k is on the low side. You'll really be suprised at how the cost of the little things really add up in the end.

They always start out sounding like an inexpensive project
