LS2 + Light Car = >>>>>>>>SPEED
There are alot of different ideas that everybody has for LS V8 application projects and I really like the "light car" ones I see being built the most, Mini-Cooper Sedan Delivery, Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky, my Miata of course.
The formula seems to be to arrive at 2400 Lbs or less = Rocket Ship
Here's my son-in-law's Sandcar: "The Punisher". He bought a bare steel chassis and control arms from a manufacturer and built the entire car by himself in a little over two weeks for the Sandsport Supershow.
It's got a cammed 2006 Corvette LS2 run by our own upgraded OEM PCM, soon to be fly-by-wire TB too.
That's him and one of my grandsons tearing it up at Glamis.

Latest here is
Jeff is specifically an GM engine guy and the motor he does now instead of the LSX is an LS2 sleeved to 427, with LS7 heads and titianium rods with a more aggressive cam than the LS7. These motors now operating with MAF and upgraded / tuned OEM PCMs make alot more HP and Torque and rev much quicker than the LSXs can for around the same money.
This kind of LS2 platform is said to be headed over 700 HP normally aspirated and may see 800 with the new VIR valve systems. The Sandrail is a "Mule" it's got it's 4th engine in it, in it's first season (everybody keeps buying them out of the car) Jeff's rail runs heads up with some twin turboed LS1 Sandrails on MEFI IV computers with just the current cammed LS2, no problem
That is one insane fast Formula you've got there HOLY SH__T! You also must already know the are they best performing F-bodys on all our roadracing courses too!

Sandrail Info.
Yeah, the Trans is a Mendeola 4s (sequential shift) you use the clutch to get rolling but then can shift up or down without it if you want. Biggest most expensive trans axles are Fortin or Albins to handle 700 + HP
Tires are biggest paddles I've seen, 38" in back.
Motor is a heavy cammed 2006 Corvette LS2 and is really quick.
