s10 ls1ers

I have been working on my ls1 s10 for about 10 months and its going to cost a lot more than 4000. I am at a little over 6000 but should have everything. I wish I could have done my project in a week but with work and school it couldnt happen. For your reference xtremedime hears some picks.

this thread is becoming a lot of help to me as well. im currently doing a swap into my 97' sonoma. so a lot of this info is becoming informational to me. i just have a few concerns about notching the front crossmember, about how big and how much modification it actually is? Or is there a good conversion oil pan? and the tranny, i got a 99' ls1 with the 4l60e, but my truck is a 4.3 with the nv3500(5 speed), can i just swap over to the auto. crossmember with no modification? and use the s10 auto driveshaft and have that lenghtened or shortened, whatever the case may be? or can i use the driveshaft from the camaro? any info is a help, thanks.

i don think the camaro driveshaft would work. you could either buy a floor shifter for the auto or buy a new column with the shifter already. im glad the thread helps ppl, we sholuld get this made into a sticky. and even if ls1performanceparts does shitty welds it wont be to hard to reweld em. i think one of the big cost things is shipping to alaska. haha.

would i be able to use a driveshaft from auto s10 with the 4l60e, assuming the splines on the input shaft are the same? and another quick question about the exhaust, what did you do for exhaust? did you make a custom crossover pipe or go dual?

Heres a pic of what I did... https://ls1tech.com/forums/attachmen...chmentid=39405
and here's some good oil pan info with pics... https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-swaps/394458-s10-ls1-headers-sanderson.html
If you cut the pan and cutout some peices of aluminum to fit and take them to a welder or weld em yourself you wouldnt have to notch the frame at all and you can get by for pretty cheap. My welding ran me $75... Pan was 120 shipped off ebay and aluminum sheet was $25. Thats around $220 for a custom oil pan!

Wish I had of known this 12 months ago and a/b $600 later here is some pics of my chromoly k-member and custom motor mounts. I don't have any good pics of the k-member I'm gonna have to take some more from the bottom side.
