Problems with exaust/fuel lines?
After working on my '69 Camaro with my father tonight, we found that the drivers side exaust manifold does NOT clear the steering box. I am just wondering if anyone here has used the stock exaust manifolds and made it fit? If not so, does anyone have a good set of headers made for the '69 Camaro LS1 with SnP motor mounts? Preferably at a good price? Thanks for the input!
Also, I've got another question. The '98 camaro LS1 is in the car right now, and we're routing the 6AN fuel supply line along the drivers side frame rail. What I'm wondering is this: We cannot find where the return line plugs into. Does anyone have close-ups of their motors, and the fuel lines?
Here's a couple pictures of my exaust problem:

Once again, thank you guys!

If you can weld well, i'd highly recommend doing this. I'm 17 and havent welded a WHOLE lot, and i had no difficulty doing all of it myself, with excellent results. It's just kinda scary when you chop up something you just paid $300 for.
The first two tubes need to be cut at the flange, moved in 3/4 of an inch, and re-welded. Then the collector needs to be carefully cut off, and re-welded straight. also, not difficult. I chopped the crap out of mine, then had to weld 5 or 6 things, but thats all that needs to be done. On the passenger side, i simply torched the bend till it was red hot, then sat on it, and it bent perfectly straight. The drivers' side clears the manual steering box by 3/4 of an inch, and will clear the power box even more. Just a suggestion. Hooker also offers a LS1 F-body header now, painted from summit they're around 500 bucks.. good luck, someone will hopefully correct/confirm the '99 manifolds.

I hope that helps.. The fuel pump goes to the "fuel in" directly from the tank. ALL THIS IS ASSUMING YOU HAVE A FUEL RAIL WITH A SINGLE LINE IN!
otherwise, this won't work, and you use the return line all the way.

I've heard some pretty bad things about pacesetter headers, so I'm not sure that's the route I wanna go. Being winter break, and switching universities this semester, I'm getting a lot of hours this winter. Hopefully, I can afford a set of Stainless Works headers...does anyone know of any other companies making LS1 headers for a 69 camaro with factory steering?
Once again, thanks!

imagine you have a return style fuel system.. no rails or injectors, just pump lines regulator and tank.
everywhere on that feed line between the pump and the regulator, is your regulated pressure.
so you can tap into that line anywhere.. at the regulator, on the line, anywhere.. and feed a single line to your fuel rail.
your return line is always hooked to the regulator.
the corvette filter/regulator pictured above is how GM does just that from the factory on the corvettes... and because its a consumable item (it IS the fuel filter) its pretty cheap..

it doesnt have to be the corvette filter/regulator, but that is a popular one because of the price.
be sure to post up with results if you do do that..

Here're the new hookers..

Here is the f-body pacesetters, drivers side in foreground, passenger in back..

Here's them on my engine...

Here's it in my car.. note i bent collector inwards, the hookers are already the proper angle...

Couldn't be better fit if they were made for the car.

Got about 1 1/2 inches from the floor, 1" from the subframe..
Oh yeah, i'm running the S&p style mounts, too..
