Default 98 harness with a 99+ pcm: can I modify the harness?

I've got a '98 harness, but would like to use a 99-00 pcm. I did a search and realize the pinouts are different between the 98 and 99+ pcm, but is it possible to de-pin the pcm connectors and rewire/re-pin them to work on a 99+ pcm? Will the actual wiring harness pcm connectors from a 98 harness plug into (properly) a 99+ pcm?

Thanks!

Hehe, I think the guy that started that thread is the same one I just bought my 98 harness from
