Question Viper Engine!

can a viper engine be adapted to a camaro...
I know, will be alot of work, (definetelly no bolt on!) but was it the same work for the LS1-S10 combo?

I saw a Cobra replica with one at Woodward a couple of years ago. It definitely attracted some attention.

The answer to these threads is always: You can put anything into just about anything. The real question is can you do it.

yeap... drivers side... he did go through the trouble of adding in the coil packs relocated as they are not easily visible in its 10's normal habitat.... it is funny to line up the black radiator cover with the offset TBs next to the mondo purple flex duct.
have to say id love to drive it but not with those stock brakes

you would have to do alot of work...look at the size of the bellhousing....ls1's fit without problems in those datsuns. looks like they had to cut out most of the floor to fit that moster in.

I saw a green Cobra at a GM carshow with the viper engine a few years back. Probably the same car. It was tight, but looked cool! It's one of those, "why not" kind of things. At least the guy upgraded the brakes to slow that beast down to reasonable speeds. Definitely got everyone's attention. It just looked like a cobra until you looked under the hood and then there were a lot of whoa's and questions!

Ive seeen lot of guys (me included) giving fists and a river of money to go to 450HP n/a with ls1....
and with the viper with a few bolt ons is way past that mark...

I have a 1 gen viper, awesome car but is a tiger betwen your legs... a lot of fun, the torque of the planet @ the pole, but the car is unstable I mean that if you do a power slide and if youre not carefull it snaps back, and forth with AMPLITUDE in the movements each time greater.... a handfull, does not brake very well, the whole front shakes "apparently" independent fron the rest of the car, the gearing is awfull, you put the darn thing in 6th @ 60 and the car is like chugu, shugu chugu @ 1100 rpm...
is not a friendly driver like my camaro, even myne is lowered, urethane bushings, 410, catback.....
maybe I was thinking out loud and my fingers thought that that should be slaped in the keyboard in front of them.......

with the stories ive heard about viper chassis deflection of the block wiping out main bearings.. id think that would scare off someone trying to build custom supports in a swap project
