1st gen F body LS1 questions
hey guys my auto tech teacher is currently doing a LS1 swap into his first gen 68 firebird and as a homework assignment he asked me to figure out what kind of headers, motor and tranny mounts to use. So my first question is, what kind of headers can be used, and where can you get them? And also do they make an aftermarket crossmember & k member or do you have to fab your own? anyone who might know please let me know, or if you know of a thread that has alot of info, let me know please. Thanks

For a first gen those will be very easy to get.
Check out Year One for some of those parts. They actually manufacture LS1 conversion parts for the 1g's. They even have a full exhaust for this kind of swap.

I personally wouldn't do the BRP style of system. The engine isnt in the optimal position, the crossmember included is CRAP, and you have to run a rack and pinion type steering setup. That's just my opinion, "nineball," a member here, has used the kit to great success, and will vouch for it. I'd personally veer more towards the street and performance style, including ATS.. also check out my sticky, lots of useful info there.
