1979 Tran Am?

Anyone do a swap? I'm fixing to buy one and it's not coming with an engine or tranny. If yes, what should I expect?

well if you can fit an ls1 in a miata without alot of work you should be ok. just expect to spend a good bit of money, i dont know if any companies manufacture products for that swap yet so an important questions arises, how are your fabbing skills?

Thanks, I would search, but like you said it's for sh*t right now. I know it's gonna cost a penny or two, but I pretty much got it for free. I got 3-4 years to build it for my son.

I am thinking of doing my 79 whats the financial burden..I know motor costs.and conversion kit. What is the cost minus those two things

It varies. Depends how much work you can do yourself and the setups that you use. For example, an external fuel pump and a sump to your stock tank will be cheaper that an intank setup.

I am doing this swap on my 71 camaro and trying to keep the costs as low as I can.

No I don't even have the engine yet. Hopefully I can put my tax refund towards that. I only have the trans. I have just completed the fuel system, Clutch and now I am getting ready to purchase an engine. Here is a pic showing an ls1 in a 71 camaro. It should be almost the same as in a 79.
