Can you post a link to the S50 install? I'm assuming it was a S50US motor?

Haven't done it yet, and my car is e36 based but this site, vorshlag.com and nash8503.com are all good sources of info.

You need the GTO oil pan or you can go dry sump ($$). I would check out the LS2 water pump and accessories to give more clearance up front for the radiator. You'll probably want to use a Corvette transmission yoke on your driveshaft because the rear flange sits inside a hole in the subframe.

The $$$ thing depends on how crazy you go and how much you want to upgrade. I can send you my excel spreadsheet if you PM me your email address.

I know of a great shop in the CT area that would be willing to do it. I know he's looking to produce an LSx swap kit for E30's

www.666fabrication.com

He's a BMW guy, but loves working with LSx motors too. Give him a call.

Thats ace !

I've sent him an email for some more info.

It would be great if you could buy some ready made engine and g/box mounts as thats quite a big part of the job of engine swapping taken care of.

yeah but youll never get the power out of one of those engine like you can out of an ls1. there just isnt enough aftermarket parts. i wouldnt even go far enough to say bmw makes great engines cause i dont find them special in anyway.

this is great.... my 84 318i (my first car BTW) has been sitting in my driveway for several years now. My dad and i just picked up an LS1 for his Tri-5 Chevy and i keep looking at theat engine thinking "that thing would kick *** in the 'Dirt-E30'"

guess im gonna be on the look for an LS1 for myself next.... my front radiator support is smashed and i have a new one, but do you guys thing it would be easier for my to leave the support off when fabbing for the swap??

Take the whole front end off. I did it on my E36 and it made things a lot easier.
