not dissing the engine AT ALL. It doesnt belong in a '69 camaro. A '69 fastback mustang with that engine, ported KB and a 50 shot would be another story.

[QUOTE=BLWN1]Your an idiot for thinking the northstar is an engine worht using for anything other than a boat anchor... Junk. QUOTE]

I've seen them used in sandrails alot, supercharged they put out about 650hp. they seem to be very good engines. Why're they junk?

Heaven for bid someone comment positively on a Cobra motor, I seen more of them daily driven and lasting with 700hp then ls1s so get off it. No one here would ever give a good comment for a cobra motor, so We both know the only reason he posted was to fire people up. So stop with the personal attacks... they are both good motors, it would be neat, but why stop there, put a viper motor in it.
Actually I have better things to do than start an forum argument. A car is a car. The only difference is that some are favored more than others. Everyone has there preferences and opinions. I have owned quite a few cars, as well as built a few. Imports, Fords, Gm's... everyone has their own personal reason why they chose their four wheeled weapon of choice.

Blwn1 I have to agree... I think it would be awesome to see. Why because it's something out of the norm.

This thread is too funny! I started a thread on stangnet about an LSx swap into my 65 fastback...and many did not like that very much! The mod motor is a pig, and not an easy fit. Yeah, it can handle a lot of boost [well, the cobra version can], but too much weight on the front end is NOT good.

One honest individual said that actually the LSx engines were much closer to what came in the car [SBF] than a mod motor was. I just like the idea of an affordable aluminum block V8. A Dart aluminum sbf block is ~$4500...for a few hundred more, I can buy a crate LS2!

I don't think I will end up doing it, but it is interesting to think about. Put a carb on it and have a powerful, light, simple to work on engine.

I understand, I love the ls1, but I am a mustang guy first. People need to appreciate all things and know whats out there. I have a die hard mustang buddy that dogs me and my ls1 junk, thats fine he'll learn the hard way....For the $$$ you can't beat the ls1... I dont think it would look right in a camaro, but if you got the $$$ why not. Im so sick of seeing 32 fords with SBC's though....

There's a guy here in Central Indiana with a '54 Vette that has a small-block ford in it. The car itself is primarily stock-looking, so unless the hood is open you'd never know. I personally won't even look at that car anymore if I see it at a show, but that's just my opinion. I think he did it as a joke, so if that's what you're after go for it. But just be prepared to get lots of negative comments at car shows, etc. People definitely won't keep their opinions to themselves when they see it. It's ultimately the owner's decision as to what he does with his or her own vehicle, but plan on a lot of verbal attacks as a result.
