I've seen them used in sandrails alot, supercharged they put out about 650hp. they seem to be very good engines. Why're they junk?

One honest individual said that actually the LSx engines were much closer to what came in the car [SBF] than a mod motor was. I just like the idea of an affordable aluminum block V8. A Dart aluminum sbf block is ~$4500...for a few hundred more, I can buy a crate LS2!
I don't think I will end up doing it, but it is interesting to think about. Put a carb on it and have a powerful, light, simple to work on engine.
