accessory drives

Does anyone know if you can use an F body waterpump with truck power steering/alternator bracket ? I know that you need to use the truck balancer, but cant seem to find out if you can use the Fbody water pump.

I know for sure that you can use an Fbody water pump with C5 accessories, thats how I have my motor setup, not 100% certain about your combo tho.. Sorry, I would guess "YES" but better to have someone confirm it for sure.

Good question. I think the answer is no, but I'm not sure. I'm guessing that given the difference in offsets between the truck stuff and the C5 & F-body stuff.

The belts ride about 2" further out from the block on the truck stuff, which means the waterpump pulley needs to be out 2" more in order to line up.

I currently have a truck motor with an f-body water pump mounted to the block and it appears that the water pump pulley is about ¾” short. I don’t have the accessories mounted, just the pump, balancer and tensioer.

If you look in the Street and Performance catalog where they show LS1 custom pulleys, etc, there is a picture of the Vette, F body, and truck dampeners together. There is a noticeable different between each of them, so the spacing away from the block will be different.

i do know you cant use the ls1/6 intake with the truck accessory bracket, gets in the way with the throttle body.

Thats not true. You just have to relocate the idler pulley. Look here http://www.performancetrucks.net/for...&highlight=ls6 . Does anybody know if you can press off the water pump pulley without damaging the water pump ? If I did that, I could just machine a custom pulley and spacer for the bet tensioner to work with the truck balancer and bracket.
