And to answer chevysaab, I haven`t spent £8000 ($16,000) yet. The drivetrain from the GTO was £2335 ($4670) and I sold my eng / gbox for £2500 ($5000) and have sold various other bits along the way to susidise the new parts.

thanks Chris.
It`s gonna be late May now I think Chris.
Wont be going down the quarter at PV tho. no time to give a shake down first.
Still, there`ll be plenty of RWYB`s later on.
Couple of bits of good news, the logbook came back today with no probs, and Adrian Flux quoted me £525 for all mods declared, 3,000 per annum fully comp. well chuffed

The vehicle's papers were returned to the owner with no problems reported. All modifications to the car were declared to prospective insurance company who asked £525 Great British Pounds to cover the vehicle for first and third party damage, fire and theft on condition that the vehicle cover no more than 3000 miles per year

No room for either, power rack or column.
I`m using a Mini Metro manual rack. No problem tho, when we moved the car at walking pace with the LS1 and T56 in the car, it steered quite easily walking alongside just using my left hand
